Animatheque nr. 6 presents animations and short films by Chris Shepherd
The ANIMATHEQUE is going to take place on the 9 of March at 18:00. The guest is acknowledged British filmmaker Chris Shepherd who will present his most important animations and shorts. Chris Shepherd was born in Liverpool and he is co-founder of London based production company Slinky Pictures. He is well known for combining live action with animation and fusing comedy with darker side of human nature. He directed the multi award winning film The Broken Jaw and his acclaimed short Dad’s Dead which is winner of over 20 international awards including Best Short at the British Independent Film Awards. Dad’s Dead has achieved a cult status. Mixing animation with live action in a unique style, told through a series of ghostly reminiscences and visual flashbacks of a young man’s fragmented memories from the past. In 2003 the film was shown in Animated Dreams competition programme. His best known drawn animation is collaboration with Scotish artist David Shrigley, Who I Am And What I Want (2005).

Animation Film Festival Animated Dreams in co-operation with animation department of the Estonian Academy of Arts is organizing monthly screenings of animated films in the auditorium of Kumu Art Museum (Weizenbergi 34, Tallinn). The series of animation events ANIMATHEQUE brings artistic animation to a wider public, outside of the festival Animated Dreams. Once a month, the public can meet an animation director from Estonia and abroad.
