ANIMATHEQUE nr. 8 presents animations by Run Wrake     
    
ANIMATHEQUE nr. 8  takes place on the 28th April at 18:00 in Kumu auditorium (Weizenbergi 34, Tallinn), where British animator Run Wrake presents his works.

Run Wrake started experimenting with animation whilst studying Graphic Design at Chelsea School Of Art in the mid-eighties, initially as a means to combine images with music. Since graduating from Royal Collage of Art in 1990, he works as a freelance Animation Director and illustrator, based in London.

Run Wrake is working on a wide variety of projects encompassing short film, promos, Television Graphics, commercials, live visuals and illustration. He has worked for BBC, Channel 4 and MTV and for bands as Future Sound of London, Stereo Mc, The Charlatans, U2, Oasis and Mano Chao. For many years he has done illustrations for famed music magazine New Musical Express. At Animated Dreams festival in 2006 Run Wrake’s film „Rabbit“ received Award for the Best Design. „Rabbit“ is a dreamlike but dark story of lost innocence and the random justice of nature, told with curious images from a distant childhood. In his works Run Wrake often combines found materjal and computer animation with hand-drawn images. As visual anarchist his illustrations and graphic style has been  strongly influenced by Dada, Keith Haring and Pop art.

At Animatheque Run Wrake will present among his other animations his new animated shortfilm The Control Master (2008).

Animation Film Festival Animated Dreams in co-operation with animation department of the Estonian Academy of Arts is organizing monthly screenings of animated films in the auditorium of Kumu Art Museum (Weizenbergi 34, Tallinn). The series of animation events ANIMATHEQUE brings artistic animation to a wider public, outside of the festival Animated Dreams. Once a month, the public can meet an animation director from Estonia and abroad.
