ANIMATHEQUE nr. 9 presents animations by Géza M. Tóth

ANIMATHEQUE nr. 9 takes place on the 25th May at 18:00 in Kumu auditorium (Weizenbergi 34, Tallinn), where Hungarian animator Géza M. Tóth presents his works.

Géza M. Tóth is Hungarian artist and filmmaker who works as associate professor of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. He has also worked as a tutor at several foreign institutes and universities such as: Royal College of Art, London, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. His founded KEDD Animation Studio produces animated commericals, TV-series, short and experimental films.

Films by Géza M. Tóth have successfully participated more than 200 film festivals worldwide and have been awarded a lot of prizes. Géza M. Tóth was a member of the Sleepwalkers Student Film Festival jury in 2004 and in 2005 his animation film „Maestro“ was shown in Animated Dreams competition programme. In 2007, „Maestro“ was nominated to the Academy Awards in the Best Animated Short Film category.

At Animatheque Géza M. Tóth will present his short films, mostly done in 3D. „Icar“ (6 min,1996), „Maestro“ (5 min, 2005) „Ergo“ (12 min, 2008) ja „Mama“ (8 min, 2009) will be screened. Also a compilation of animated channel idents made for Hungarian Music Channel and part of one experimental opera-animations based on ballet Miraculous Mandarin by Bela Bartok will be screened.

Animation Film Festival Animated Dreams in co-operation with animation department of the Estonian Academy of Arts is organizing monthly screenings of animated films in the auditorium of Kumu Art Museum (Weizenbergi 34, Tallinn). The series of animation events ANIMATHEQUE brings artistic animation to a wider public, outside of the festival Animated Dreams. Once a month, the public can meet an animation director from Estonia and abroad.
